The packaging materials need to be chemically stable, which means that, for example, that they do not depolymerise as a result of the UV light. Due to the low temperature development there are no specific requirements for the factory processing, and simple cold sealing adhesive can be used. UV light passes through most plastic packaging materials very well, which is another requirement. Exceptions to this requirement are packaging of polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polycarbonate, polystyrene and polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
